Use a wall-facing position to explore a straighter line and active shoulders.

What it develops

  • Overhead stacking
  • Shoulder endurance

How to perform it

  1. Walk up only as far as you can reverse safely.
  2. Press the floor away.
  3. Seek a controlled stacked shape without forcing contact.

Common mistakes

  • Walking too close
  • Holding the breath
  • Relaxing the lower back

Suggested readiness

  • Walk in and out under control.
  • Hold a stable pain-free line while breathing.

These suggestions are not a test or verification of ability.

Scale it back

  • Feet-elevated pike hold
  • Stand farther from the wall

Training cautions

  • Keep enough energy to walk down; do not train to failure inverted.
